A Thai temple mural painting in the classic Bangkok-period (Rattanakosin) style, depicting a scene from a Jataka tale — a former life of the Buddha. The mural is painted directly on plaster in the characteristic multi-register horizontal format. The upper register shows a heavenly palace with flame-topped prasat spires in gold-leaf and deep crimson, inhabited by devas in tall jeweled crowns and pleated silk garments. The middle register shows a forest scene: the Bodhisattva in his previous life as a prince distributes gifts to forest dwellers, figures rendered in the elongated Thai classical canon with sinuous outlines in black and filled with flat mineral pigments. The lower register shows a river procession of gilded royal barges with oarsmen. All backgrounds are filled with intricate kinnara birds, flame motifs, and ornamental foliage — no empty space anywhere. Gold leaf applied on crowns and architectural elements. Palette: gold, crimson, coral, turquoise, deep green, black, and white.
