Geometric Optical Illusion Tiling

A square flat-vector graphic of an original geometric optical illusion. The composition is a tight 9x9 grid of identical rhombus cells, each cell shaded with three flat tones — a pale bone, a warm camel, and a deep espresso — arranged so that adjacent cells lock into the impression of stacked cubes seen from a high three-quarter angle. Halfway through the field, the shading scheme inverts so the same cells suddenly read as cubes seen from below, producing an unstable flip across the diagonal. A faint single-pixel cream outline traces each rhombus edge. Overlaid on top, a smaller off-center hexagonal patch of nine cells shifts the palette to a cool muted slate-blue, pewter and ink, creating a region that appears to recede behind the warm field even though it lies on the same flat plane.
